Introduction

Welcome to Volt, a service provided by Perceptron AS ("we," "us," or "our") located in Oslo, Norway. Volt allows users to create shared photo and video albums for events, where guests can contribute photos and videos in real-time.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Volt, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Volt. By using our services, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

User Accounts

Registration: Certain features require you to create an account by providing your name and a valid email address.

Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your account. Emails we send to you contain authentication codes, and anyone you share them with will get access to the service and your account. We recommend that you secure your email account with a strong, unique password and multi-factor authentication.

Accuracy of Information: You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate and complete. You can update your account information through the User Profile page.

Account Management: You can download your data and delete your account at any time through the self-serve dashboard.

Use of the Service

License: We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use Volt for personal or commercial events.

Prohibited Activities: You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purposes.
  • Upload or share content that is illegal, offensive, or infringes on intellectual property rights.
  • Attempt to interfere with the service's functionality or security.

Content

Personal Data: We maintain records of your personal data, including your name and email address, for the duration of your account. See our Privacy Policy for more details.

Content Data: Content Data is any content you create on or upload to Volt. You retain all rights to your content. By uploading content to the service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to use, display, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you and those you authorize to access it, limited to the time you are using the service. You can terminate this license with immediate effect by deleting content items and/or walls.

Responsibility: You are solely responsible for the content you or anyone you authorize upload and share on Volt.

Employee Access: Volt employees do not access User Content. The system is designed to prevent employee access, and operational procedures and technical controls prohibit such actions.

To make it explicit: We do not use your Personal Data or Content Data for any other purpose than to provide the service to you and those you authorize to access it. We do not share or sell User Data or Content Data to to third parties.

Payment and Billing

Free Services: You can test Volt for free. You must provide us with a valid name and email address so that we can save and protect your content. We have set reasonable rate limits to prevent abuse. This is intended to help you evaluate the service with the intent of purchasing a paid service.

Billing: Payments are processed via Stripe, a secure third-party payment provider.

Data Storage and Security

Data Storage: We are storing your account and metadata in data centers in the United States, Germany, and Singapore. When you create an account, we will use your current location to determine the storage location for your account to ensure the fastest possible access. Additionally renditions of your content may be cached (stored temporarily) on a global Content Delivery Network (CDN) edge node depending on where you or any guests you invite access the service from.

Data Security: We implement robust security measures, including encryption, access controls, and time-locked backups to protect your data.

Communication

Transactional Emails: We send transactional emails related to sign-up, authentication with one-time passwords, payment, and deletion of accounts. Transactional emails are only sent when necessary, as a result of user interaction, and when required by law. Please note that you cannot opt out of transactional emails. You can delete your account at any time.

Marketing Emails: We may occasionally send marketing emails about new features or promotions. You can unsubscribe from these emails by using the link provided in the email, the Unsubscribe button in your email client, or on the Profile page.

Cookies

We use only strictly necessary cookies for authentication, session management and logging to help us provide a reliable service. Our log data do not contain any personally identifiable information.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to free users of Volt at our sole discretion, without notice, and for any reason. For Paid Services, we will provide the service for the duration of the paid period, but reserve the right to immediately terminate your access to the service if you violate these terms.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Perceptron AS shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of Volt.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Norway, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of Volt after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
